James Sattva comes to the Academy with a Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. He has performed as a guitarist, vocalist and keyboardist with various choirs and bands for 22 years. In addition to teaching guitar, he also teaches Electricity I and II at Page County Technical Center in Luray. James teaches to all ages, and his students currently range in age from 7 to 52.

James is the pianist at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Shenandoah. "I love to teach, and teaching guitar is especially rewarding.

Music is a powerful creative gift that is in us all," he says. "I help my students tap into their inherent resources, and teach them the skills they need to be able to express themselves musically in a way that reflects their own unique personalities."
